Magnum Push Piers: underpinning your foundation down to firm ground
Steel piers that we press hydraulically under your existing foundation, using the weight of the house as reaction. Every pier is tested, so you know exactly what it carries.
- The jack presses the tube into the ground segment by segment
- The weight of the house provides the reaction
- The pier rests on the bearing layer
When to choose it
- Cracks in the façade or inner walls that keep growing
- Doors and windows that stick, sloping floors
- The bearing layer is deep (more than ± 3.5 m), e.g. under clay, peat or made ground
- Heavy buildings or walls that have already settled a lot
- You want the foundation lifted back in a controlled way
How it works
How we work
- 01
Excavation
For each pier we dig a local pit next to the foundation, down to ± 1 m. Usually from the outside.
- 02
Bracket
Under the footing we fix a steel bracket that takes the load of the wall.
- 03
Pressing
High-strength steel tubes of Ø 76 mm are pressed in segment by segment, down to a bearing layer.
- 04
Test and lock
We hold the test pressure for at least 15 minutes, lock the pier and backfill the pit. You get a record per pier.

Project in Erquelinnes
We stabilised a house with deep cracks in two phases: first resin to strengthen the ground, then Magnum Push Piers under the most heavily loaded walls.

What do push piers for foundation repair cost?
That depends on the number of piers, the depth of the bearing layer and access. After a site visit you get a fixed price per pier and a clear plan.
How many piers does my house need?
Usually one pier every 1.5 to 2 m under the settled walls. The exact number follows from the weight of the walls and the subsidence survey.
Can my house be lifted back?
Often, yes. Because the piers carry the building, we can lift the foundation in a controlled way, as far as the walls and finishes allow.
Do I have to move out during the works?
No. We usually work from the outside, without vibrations. Count on a few days per façade.
How does this differ from resin?
Piers carry the foundation on a deep, firm layer. Resin strengthens the shallow ground itself. If the bearing layers are deep, piers are the right choice; sometimes we combine both.
Not sure which technique your home needs?
Send us a few photos of the cracks. We visit without obligation and advise the right approach.
